11 years after graduating from U.C. Berkeley and four years after getting licensed, I started my office in 2002 to provide an important service to home and business owners in the Bay Area. The building and planning codes have become so complicated - construction has become so expensive, that many problems that would have an architectural solution remain unsolved. I design the solution and help negotiate the maze of permits & entitlements and construction.

Most of my experience prior to 2002 has been in the world of commercial and high-tech architecture. This wealth of knowledge infuses my daily work on the smaller projects my office delivers. Some of this high-level expertise gets applied all the time: acoustics and soundproofing are essential to cozy homes, knowledgeable coordination with engineers results in safe and pleasing structures.
